Infanteriestelling De Franse Kamp Bussum

Infanteriestelling De Franse Kamp in Bussum bestaat uit circa 60 groepsschuilplaatsen die hier gedurende de Eerste Wereldoorlog zijn gebouwd. De stelling maakt onderdeel van de voorstelling Naarden wat op haar beurt weer behoorde tot de Nieuwe Hollandse Waterlinie. Op de Franse Kamp zijn twee verschillende type groepsschuilplaatsen die worden aangeduid als type 1 en type 2. Type 1 is het kleine type en heeft slechts 1 ingang, de bovenkant is 5 bij 3,2 m en het dak en de muren zijn 1.25 m dik. De functie van dit type betrof een schuilplaats voor 4 loopgraafwachten. Type 2 is een stukje groter en heeft een dak oppervlak van 9,7 bij 2,6 m met een muur en dak dikte van 1,20 m. De functie van dit type betrof een schuilplaats voor 16 man reservetroepen.
